3 months old

I'm a little late in posting this, but this was taken when the twins were exactly 3 months old! It was late at night, but they were awake together so I couldn't pass up the chance. Layna looks like she's got a secret of something, doesn't she?

this won't be the first time he sticks his tongue out at me, but it probably will be the cutest.

cousins

Cami is the youngest of 4 daughters of my sister Kristen. She is used to other people helping her and telling her what to do. She wanted to help Judah finish his bottle and despite her big sister's telling her what to do and the fact that she was thirsty . . . she did help him finish his bottle on her own. She's learning one of the most important things a woman can . . . multi-tasking!

best friends

At 12 weeks old, the twins are starting to show that they'll be each other's best friend. Not only do they like to be close to each other, but they just seem to be "at home" when together. We are having so much fun with them these days. In this picture, Layna is doing one of the things she does that I love. See how her right leg is extended and toes spanned. She does that often and is just so cute when she does. Of course some would say she is showing off her long, slender legs--hey, if you've got it . . .

more long lashes

So far, it's my boys who have the long lashes . . . but the doctor thinks Layna will have curly hair. Maybe that will offset the lashes she may lack. Well, this little guy certainly has become the apple of his mommy's eye. He just has a way of climbing into a part of your heart that is there just for him. What is it they say--you love all of your children the same amount but in a different way? I guess I am seeing that already. When we kiss them all good night, we can't believe how very good God has been to us.

princess . . .

Layna now has a throne on which to perch. We got one of these bumbo chairs (I keep calling it a "bamba" and then Bri sings the song:) and it was a hit with Layna. We still have to try Judah in it, but I'm sure he'll love it too. Once we know he does, we'll find another one and use these a ton. I like how a baby just looks like a "little person" in one.

Layna wasn't hiding her true feelings about her shots--no use in putting on a happy face like brother . . . he just seemed to have a delayed reaction compared to her.

mr. resilient

Can you believe this boy just had 4 shots right before this picture was taken?! What a champ! Well, that's not something I want to do again anytime soon . . . The babies checked out great at their 11 week appointment. They each gained EXACTLY the same amount since their last visit--2 whole pounds! Judah weghed in at 11 pounds 3 ounces and Layna at 10 pounds 6 ounces. They each measured 23 inches in length and their head circumference was exactly the same at 14 3/4 inches. What twins they are! The doctor continyes to be so pleased with their progress as are we:)

crib time

People continue to ask me if the twins sleep in the same crib, well that has never happened (during the night anyway), but it was fun one morning to put both in the crib to watch Judah's mobile. Since then, Daddy found a good deal on a mobile for Layna, so this will most likely not occur regularly. She LOVES to lay under her stars and moon mobile and look up at it. This was just one of many cute pictures taken. Incidentally, most of the time either one or the other was looking at the mobile and the other doing something else. Hmmm. A sign, perhaps, of times to come?
